Job Description

Are you passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation services to your community? We are seeking a responsible and customer-focused Transit Service Driver to join our team. In this role, you will drive and maintain transit vehicles, assist passengers, and ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all riders. This is a part-time; 2 day per week position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport passengers safely and efficiently following scheduled routes and reservations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, traffic laws, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Provide courteous and respectful customer service, assisting passengers as needed.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, and report any maintenance needs.
  • Accurately complete paperwork, including ride logs, fuel receipts, and passenger reports.
  • Participate in required training sessions and adhere to company policies, including safety and non-discrimination policies.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding schedule changes, delays, or incidents.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate a 15-passenger van and assist passengers as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse community.
  • Basic computer skills for logging trips and completing reports.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical duties such as bending and assisting passengers.
  • Must pass a background check and participate in a random drug testing program.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in transportation, customer service, or community services.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with community transit programs and services.
