Staff Accountant

Job Description

Water Engineering, Inc is looking for a Staff Accountant to help with the organization and
processing of the daily accounting duties of the company. The ideal candidate will be a hard-
working professional able to undertake a variety of accounting tasks and work diligently under
pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and
discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday (40 hours)

Work Location:

• Office / no remote work

Responsibilities

• Assist with the accounting operations of both parent and subsidiary corporations, especially
  their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
• Manages receivables, payables, sales tax and the chart of accounts
• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with the monthly close processes
• Maintains historical records
• Prepares financial reports by collection, analyzing, and summarizing account information and
  trends
• Complies and enforces federal, state, and local legal requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related
• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize to meet deadlines, and comfortable working
  independently
• Ability to communicate complex data clearly
• Proficient computer skills and ability to operate general office equipment
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with a wide range of financial transactions including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Experience and knowledge of Netsuite (preferred)
