Job Description

The Birth to 3's Education Officer at Blue Valley Community Action Partnership Head Start, is responsible to support Birth to 3 Teachers and staff and to oversee the Birth to 3 partnership program of BVCA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist the Management Team in the day-to-day operations of the Children’s Services (CS) Program, including planning, organizing, budgeting, managing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive services for families and children.

  2. Develop, coordinate, manage and oversee the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership programs.

  3. Provide leadership and direction for staff and partners to implement high quality, responsive, professional EHS Center Based services.

  4. Provide expertise, information, training, and support to staff, parents, and the community regarding the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership services.

  5. Model sensitivity; build and foster positive relationships.

  6. Communicate effectively and professionally.

  7. Ensure the operation and maintenance of a safe, clean, healthy, and productive work environment.

  8. Maintain professional competence through professional growth and development opportunities.
  9. Oversee the implementation of and complete, maintain, and monitor required activities, paperwork, reports, record keeping, data collection, and documentation in an accurate, timely, and confidential manner and in compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations including those pertinent to collaboration partners.

  10. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. At least two years experience in early childhood, social services, family services/support, or related field.

  2. 2 to 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education/Development or in a related field with course work in Early Childhood Education/Development.

  3. Supervisory experience and/or demonstration of team leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Preference will be given to applicant that has at least a B.A. or advanced degree in the discipline of Early Childhood Education OR a B.A. in a related field with equivalent coursework and experience in early childhood development.

  2. Experience working with and/or detailed knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and/or NE State Child Care Licensing Regulations preferred.

  3. Knowledge and experience in mentoring and coaching.
